Trumpeter Finch at Eemshaven in June 2005
On 12 June 2005, an adult male Trumpeter Finch Bucanetes githagineus was observed at Eemshaven, Groningen, the Netherlands. The bird was present for c 2 h and was seen by c 20 birders. This is the second record for the Netherlands; the first was on 31 May 2003. The record in June 2005 formed part of an unprecedented influx into Europe with c 30 reports.
