Kumlien's Gull on Terschelling in January 2005

On 30 January 2005, a second-winter Kumlien's Gull Larus glaucoides kumlieni was observed and photographed on the beach at West aan Zee, Terschelling, Friesland, the Netherlands. This is the first record of this taxon for the Netherlands and for the southern North Sea region; the second was an adult in Belgium in January 2008.
