V This bird could be identified as a Garden Warbler Sylvia borin. It was photographed at Hurghada, Egypt, on 10 May 2007 by Edwin Winkel. The identification of the bird is extensively discussed in Dutch Birding 30: 258-260, 2008.

Water Pipit / Anthus spinoletta

VI This bird depicted in mystery photograph VI is a Water Pipit Anthus spinoletta. It was photographed at Lac de Melo, Haute-Corse, Corsica, France, on 25 July 2007 by Dick Groenendijk. The identification of the bird is discussed in Dutch Birding 30: 258-260, 2008.

Winners
From those subscribed to Dutch Birding, 1 out of the 24 entrants (4%) managed to identify both mystery birds correctly. Hans Larsson was the winner of a copy of a comprehensive illustrated field guide of the birds of Africa south of the Sahara by Craig Robson. Congratulations to him!
